Richmond is housed in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. Richmond is a historic market town, The town was built around the Castle and originally founded by the Normans in 1071. The town derives its name from the strong hill that the castle was built upon, originally referred to as ‘Riche-mont’. Much of the iconic architecture of Richmond dates back to the Georgian era, when the town went through a time of great prosperity.

What our Holiday Cottage Offers
The Green Door Cottage is tucked away just off the market square, the perfect bolt hole for a relaxing break.
As you enter the cottage through its extra large green door there is a small hallway with a coat and shoe rack. This then leads into a very spacious lounge decorated in warm, cosy tones with a beautiful Mulberry wallpaper. There is an electric stove with solid wood mantle and a comfortable sofa and chair to relax on when watching the smart tv with the added benefit of Sky.
Just off the lounge is a lovey separate kitchen with an electric oven and hob, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is also a Nespresso Machine for your relaxing morning coffee. The cupboards are full of everything you will need to cook up a full English breakfast to a romantic 3 course evening meal.
As you go up the stairs you enter a very large master bedroom with a comfy king size bed to one end of the room and a dressing table, open wardrobe and a comfy chair to relax on at the other end.
The luxury fully fitted bathroom completes this beautiful cottage with a free standing claw foot bath to relax those aching muscles after a long walk on one of the many in and around Richmond. There is also a double shower and underfloor heating.

Getting Around
Darlington train station is 12 miles from Richmond and has great links to cities like Newcastle, Manchester and Edinburgh. Richmond also has great bus routes. The X26 and X27 travel from Darlington through to Colburn, with stops in Catterick. The scenic Dalesbus has routes to Ribblehead, Hawes and Bentham.
